"A collaborative, innovative approach to creating opportunities for successful communication."

Valerie has over 25 years of experience as a speech language pathologist working on behalf of children with communication disorders. She started her private practice after many years in Portland Public Schools with the simple intention to provide the highest quality, individualized speech, language and communication services to children and their families.

An innovative clinician, Valerie draws from a wide range of techniques and strategies to design effective therapy programs that build on a child’s strengths. She has advanced training and particular interest in supporting the communication needs of children with complex speech and language deficits and children with social cognitive deficits (Asperger Syndrome, High Functioning Autism).

Valerie works closely with families and develops collaborative relationships with school teams. She understands the complex advocacy and services needed to create opportunities for communication success and independence across the home, school and community settings.
